Thank you to A Derasta Creation for the above snag!
Well, the weekend just flew by...
I didn't accomplish ALL that I wanted to do last weekend, but I still got a lot of stuff done. The neighborhood party was a hoot. The couple that was hosting the party were very nice and friendly, and the neighbors that came were equally nice. Mary Stewart was there, as sweet as ever. Unfortunately, she didn't bring her famous pie, and that was a little disappointing. I also saw a few neighbors that I didn't know even existed. Art, the guy who lives next door unfortunately did not make an appearance. Apparently, he is the "mystery man" of the neighborhood. Everyone (mostly, the older women) were asking me about the guy, and I confessed to a few of them of the "poop" incident. No one there claimed to know a thing about it, and I don't know what possessed me to confess it.
Naked man was there, fully dressed, alone, sans wife. I had to bite my lip when he told everyone about the neighbors that lived directly behind him on the next block. Apparently, from his upstairs windows, he has a birds eye view of the couple that live behind him, and they just happen to enjoy walking around the house in the nude. Lovely. Suddenly, he left, and his wife came in. They have a sick child and they were obviously taking turns.. I don't know.. "Robin" was wearing makeup, and I caught a few "paused" glances directed to Naked Man. She looked a little uncomfortable, but seemed better once Naked man left the scene.
I've been up at night way past my bedtime the last 4 days, because my oldest, who DOESN'T drive YET, has been working a bunch of hours at the mall near our home. So, as she works the late hours, I've been a busy elf decorating the home with plastic green garlands, and fake poinsettia, and Christmas lights.. Note to the reader: There is no point in buying Christmas candles if you don't intend to light them. I went through some more boxes and discovered at least 6 candles that were up in the attic, melted. Time to buy some more! I vow to light them...each and every one of them Anyway, everything looks nice and Christmasy and plastic, red and green.. Aww... I will make a point of taking some pictures to share with you. Quite frankly,I'm just exhausted, literally falling into bed tired; being an elf is hard work!
Last night I found myself going through a bag of old Christmas cards that I had received from the past. Some of the cards are dated from 1990. I just sat there, and went through them all. There were cards from family members, relatives, old friends, people from the past that I've lost touch with, and ones that I still am close to. I had a kick reading them all. It was kind of weird, but it gave me a nice warm feeling when I read most of them. I'm not one to throw anything away--not if there is a handwritten message inside. Receiving a hand written note in a card has always been special to me. Throwing it out is almost as bad as throwing away a picture, or ripping one in a million pieces and flushing it down the toilet. (I did that once...and it still haunts me.) I still have more cards to send out. Hopefully by the end of this week, they will all be out in the mail.
Are you done with your holiday shopping? I'm not. I'm predicting that by this weekend I will be completely done. Mother is coming over this weekend, purposively to go shopping. I'll be at JcPenney for hours, walking in circles with a baby stroller... Oh, I just can't wait!! I don't know what it is, but my mother has this special power of completing disappearing in a store from one moment to the next. It is frightening. One moment she is looking at skirts and suits, and the next moment she is looking for socks. She is easy to lose in a store..she is a slave for fashion, who wouldn't be caught dead in tennis shoes.
I hope you are having a stress free week!!!

I know what you mean about personal Christmas cards. I have a bunch of them saved also...now, where ARE they is the question. Red and green plastic sounds like a fun way to Deck the Halls. Hope you get some rest before another round of shopping.
