Well, what a weekend it has been... Please, don't ask for the details...
I decided to take my mother out to dinner today. We tried to make the most of it. Imagine this as you will: We were sitting in the corner booth, of a not too busy restaurant. My youngest son (you happens to have the stomach flu), upon the arrival of our food, proceeds to throw up all over himself. My daughter (who, also was diagnosed with a stomach virus) goes off and gets the diaper bag that I left in the van. Meanwhile, my other son (who also has the stomach flu) cannot finish his grilled cheese because his stomach is bothering him. He is slouching in the booth right next to my mother. My poor mother proceeds to try and finish her red snapper filet sandwich with her left hand, (she fractured her right wrist last Tuesday), as pieces of her sandwich are falling into her bra. Suddenly, a house fly is circling my youngest son's apple juice. Apparently, the aroma is so sweet, the big fly decides to dive into his apple juice. My son proceeds to scream in horror.... Yes, there was a reason why I chose the corner booth. We must have been quite a sight to others who happened to see us there. My oldest daughter confirmed this as she came back to the table after having a her soft drink refill. "You guys look like you're all half dead."
That just kinda sums up the last week for us. Not only are all of my children ill, but also my husband and step-son. You won't see me around on this blog very much this week, because I need to stay home with the baby and take care of my poor mother with the broken right wrist. It will be put in a cast Tuesday, so I'm praying it will heal well. I myself, just banged my right hand on the wall after retrieving the cheesecake from the refrigerator. (EVIL CHEESECAKE!!) I immediately put ice on it, but, ice really DOES hurt after sitting on your hand after awhile. I should thank my blessings that the stomach flu hasn't really gotten me too badly. Thank God I've been able to tend to my family and do the laundry. I've been cleaning vomit and poop all week.. Keep me in your prayers...
To all the MOTHERS out there: HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!
