Okay, I get it... NOBODY thinks Danny Kaye was "cute" besides me. Okay do your annoying eye rolls!
I've had a horrible day thus far.
Things could get worse though, so I'm going to try and do a POLLYANNA and hope for the best for the rest of the day.
I have a 40 minute commute to work. This morning, I left my purse, and my son's bag at home in the garage. I must have been pre-occupied with the blaring radio coming out of the neighbor's house across the street. They are moving, and the house is near empty, so when they have the radio on with an open window, we are getting a stereo effect sound. Or, it could have been the happy jogger who stopped to say hello as she saw me put in my half asleep 3 year old into his car seat. Or perhaps it's because I only got a total of 5 hours sleep-(another late night at work for my daughter) No matter though. It wasn't until I drove up to my mother's house did I realize that I left my purse and bag sitting in the garage.
I could have screamed.
I drove back and I didn't scream. I kept my cool as I got back on the highway towards home, through the woods and over the hill.
I am so ready to quit my job. You have no idea.
When I finally got to work, I felt just so overwhelmed that I just had to sit in front of my computer monitor and stare at it for a few minutes. I get asked quite often why this commute hasn't driven me crazy yet, and I'm left wondering how it hasn't. In between my commute, picking up the kids to and from school and pre-school, and other errands sometimes at the end of the day...I'm exhausted. Driving an extra 60+ miles today is not helping my mood today, so forgive me if I sound like a complete DOWNER.
Okay, Maria just came in with chocolate. Things are looking brighter already.
Good things that have happened this past week:
My daughter got her California ID two weeks earlier than what we expected. We got her passport application in yesterday. Very good news; I didn't have to pay extra $100 forexpedited service.
Got my new dishwasher in! Yipppee!!
Got to pull out all of the weeds from the front yard!! Yipppee!!
Was able to edit my damn guestbook on Diaryland.com! (Apparently the only good time the site to edit is available is at 1 am--guess who was awake at 1 am?) All the spam entries with all the pornographic sites available in Italy are gone!! Yahooo! Feel free to sign my guestbook now!!
I didn't burn my roast yesterday!!
I didn't get stopped today by the CHP.
Here in California they are enforcing this big campaign: "Click it or Ticket!" On the way to work, I kid you not when I tell you I saw at least 8 Chippys out there on the road. I didn't think twice until I was driving back home to retrieve my purse. You just don't know how vunerable you can find yourself in until you are caught off guard without your purse or wallet. I didn't even have change to use a pay phone, and although I found my daughter's cell in the car-the battery was dead. This scenario is right up there when my ATM card "magically" bounced off the floor of my car into the pocket of my car door.
Oh, and I forgot to mention my brakes sound awful, and I was already called an "awful mother" today as well. I need your positive thoughts. What I really need is a viewing of Hans Christian Anderson!
Thank you!

I have ALWAYS loved Danny Kaye! You must be in the new generation of loving him, though. I think I'm nearly old enough to be your grandmother. Or AM I your grandmother? I get so confused these days . . . Blessings, Penny http://journals.aol.com/firestormkids04/FromHeretoThere

Hey, who called you an awful mother? Are they crazy? It better not be that daughter who keeps you up all hours of the night...haha.
Tomorrow WILL BE a great day. I have decreed it so. --Cin
oh sweet Girl! What a day......much much worse than mine! Of course you put a hilarious spin on it. I had a cop behind me today and i was flying. It was obvious i slowed after seeing him and i was late to get home (So Rick could bitch for 10 min straight) and i just prayed he didnt pull me over since i had no time. He didnt.
I am happy about your good things that happened. Sweet dreams, love, lisa
I hope the rest of your week is better! LOL
