Friday is here, and it couldn't have gotten here any quicker. It's a 3 day holiday for me!! YIPPPEEE!! Yes, it's Veteran's Day weekend!
I was up late last night trying to do an entry, but none of my pictures I wanted to share would load. This made me mad. Oh well--I hope to be able to post them tonight.
Monday was my youngest's 4th birthday! I've been so busy lately, I couldn't even post an entry for the poor boy. Hopefully those pictures I took will post tonight. We only had a small little party at home with just me, daddy, and his siblings. He was smiling from ear to ear though. This weekend we are heading to my brother's house to celebrate my niece's birthday, and Nicholas' so it will be a double birthday celebration. It shall be fun.
Well, it looks like my two older kids are venturing off to the east coast to see their father in NJ at the end of the year. It will only be for five days--five days of constant worry on my part, but they really want to go-I can't hold them back. They will be spending New Years there, and coming back a few days afterwards. My daughter was asking me whether or not she has to buy boots for her trip. "You mean I can't wear my flats?!" I know a lot of you live out in NJ--give me some advice of what the kids should be wearing, please. My son Andrew lives in shorts all year long. I am thinking this is not going to be possible for winter time in New Jersey, huh? Let me know. I'm going to be worrying about them enough--at least I know they will be clothed properly.
I am so ready for it to be Friday today. I was at the receptionist desk (yes, she didn't show up today-something to do about her 98 year old mother), and it was non-stop. I had 3 sex offender felons sitting in the waiting room. Can you say, "Eww?" I'll say if for you... "EEEEWWW!!" Anyway, there was one in particular who came up to the window, and leaned a little too much on the glass window. I actually heard the glass move from his protruding stomach. I swear, I think this guy was trying to flirt with me.. Can you say, "Eeew" again, please?! "EEEEWWW!!!" Later, this guy in a pumpkin velhor jogging suit comes in who had a million and one questions of why his expunge wasn't approved. Oh my Lord. It took all my patience in my being from not yelling at the man. After a moment of silence in the lobby, here comes this goof ball, with his whole extended family in tow in the lobby. The whole clan was chatting away pleasantly as if they were at a party or something. Who cares their son is on the D.V. caseload for beating the crap out of hise wife.. Here we are all together like a happy family at the probation department...lade da! I just don't understand-nor do I want to.
Anyway, did I mention it was Friday yet?! Here is a Meme I got from the Princess--she got it from :
Feel free to play along!
4 Jobs I've Had
1. Parking lot leaf blower (I'm not kidding) I did it one night with my ex-husband. After that one night, I never did it again. I wore a leaf blower on my back, and I felt like a real life ghostbuster. I was so sore from that one night... Eeek.
2. Newspaper Hotline Girl. Yes, the paper carriers would call my "Hotline" and report the finish time of their route. I had a lot of cute little boys call me. I was 19.
3. Customer Service Retail. Oh the stories from that experience is never ending. People are interesting--especially the shoppoholics..
4. Cashier at an amusement park. I was 18 so I was able to ring up beer. I'll never forget my first customer. He walked up to the register and ordered beer with two of his buddies. He wore a dog collar and chain, and one friend was holding the chain. Very interesting. I was famous for the chili hot dogs however. Regular patrons requested them by me. Wow, huh? And you thought you really knew me.

Julie, I live across the river from NJ. Yes, it probably will be cold in NJ in January. Snow is also possible and boots would be nice if they are going to be outside in it. Need long pants a warm jacket or light one with sweaters underneath. Not sure what else but a hat would help. If I can think better later i will post again, Jersey is not like SC in the winter and is not nearly as scenic. Bill
Gloves and scarfs would also help.
Great answers!!! OMG... they are going huh? Well, they need pants. Jeans, or sweats, or dockers or something... but pants. Long sleeve shirts, sweaters, fleece jackets, at minimum. They will be colder than most because they are not used to it, so count on gloves and hats too.
It is 39 degrees and falling right now. End of December? Could be 50's... could be 20's and it could swing that much day to day.
be well,
Dawn

OK, Coelha. I did mine.
Happy Birthday, Nicholas!
January in NJ...no shorts. Follow Dawn's list, including those gloves. The Cali kids are going to be cold!
Leaf blower. That one was a surprise! --Cin
