First off, I just want to say, a little birdy (not the annoying squacking kind) came by to let me know that there is a BIRTHDAY GIRL in J-Land!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, MARY!!!
You know Mary.. (Look at my sidebar under Favorite Journals to find her link.) She is the totally awesome chick in Jland, who lets me send her my "venting" emails. She is just totally cool... Make sure to stop at her place to wish her a
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARY!
Yesterday afternoon I attended my niece's graduation. The church service was very entertaining. I got there early with my mom and my two boys and found a pew right behind my brother. I immediately noticed this strange man at the other side of my pew staring at me. I don't like being stared at. I looked back, and he had this stare of contempt on his face--a look I see sometimes from the mentally ill clients that come to the office. Very strange. I don't know if he knew me, but I certainly did not recognize the idiot. I was happy that his family/relatives arrived--it blocked the view.
Besides the staring idiot man, the priest gave an entertaining service which involved him throwing a football across the church, as well as a jar of peanut butter. And you thought us Catholics were boring, huh? Never a dull moment. The poor older woman wasn't expecting the football, but had a good laugh afterwards. It was a long service however, and Nicholas was starting to feel a little restless. Two and a half hours long to be exact. He was surprisingly very good at church, but every five minutes he would ask in a whisper, "Is it over?" I took him with me for communion so he could get a blessing, and he thought that was so much fun, he wanted to go back and get another. When he saw that I wouldn't be going, he decided to sit down with me. As he sat down back in the pew, the church was veryquiet.
Suddenly, Nicholas blurts out: "Is it over?"
"Not yet!" announces the priest from his microphone.
All of this is followed by everyone in the church bursting out in laughter. I guess everyone was thinking the same thing. Perfect timing, Nick!
I unfortunately don't have any pictures to share because I forgot to bring my camera. Hopefully my brother will send me some. My pretty niece, Bonnie is one smart cookie; she one many awards with nothing less than an A-. I am very proud of her, and happy to see her graduate.
I also saw some people that I haven't seen for a long time, and it was nice to see them again. It's kind of weird when you notice how some people have aged through the years. You are left wondering to yourself; man, do I look old to them too? There was this one woman particular woman that I used to work with about 20 something years ago passing out coffee at the reception. I was out of high school back then, and this woman must have been at least in her late 20's at the time. I swear this woman must have had a face lift or something; she looked exactly the same, and she had one of those fake tans you can obtain from lying down in those tanning beds.
It's FRIDAY!!!

i love Nick..IS IT OVER!? LOL My kind of kid. I have went to many Catholic weddings and i swear i could have knitted a whole sweater in the time it took to get the person married. Glad that freaky man didnt stare the whole time. I had the same experience at Megan's grad last night about seeing strange people you knew so long ago and how they have changed.
