Here she is, my cousin Tania in her graduation uniform, looking cool! She graduated from Universidade de Lisboa (Lisbon). Instead of caps and gowns, the women wear black skirt suits, and the men wear matching suits, all topped with a large cloak! Those are red ribbons she is holding. During the ceremony the students all raise their ribbons in the air (instead of throwing their caps, they wave ribbons). Written on the ribbons are well wishes from friends and family. I was very touched when she asked me to write something on a ribbon-the thought of it being waved in the Lisbon wind seemed wonderful in itself. (No I have yet to go there.) She is wearing sunglasses more likely because she guessed that I would post at least a few of her pictures on here...ha ha ha... She was right. :)
Congratulations, girl!! We love ya'!

Julie, what a beautiful young woman. What was her degree in? More importantly does she have a job?
What are the colored things on her lap in the second picture?
Lastly does she have a boy friend or plans for marriage. I have a couple of young nephews who would really like to meet her.
Looks like they really know how to put on a classy graduation in Protuagal (s/p sorry)
Good to hear from you again, I have missed you, Bill
She DOES look cool! Why can't grads here dress like that on the big day?

Congratulations to Tania. I think the Graduation uniforms are rather chick compared to the usual ones here in the states. (Hugs) Indigo
