It's A Big, Small World....

It really is a small world …

Recently we heard that my cousin’s daughter, Tania was coming to California for a month this summer.  Her boyfriend, is going to school here in California, and is taking some summer classes.  He won’t be able to go home (Portugal) this summer, so Tania will be coming down from home (Portugal) to visit him.

It so happens, that the boyfriend (Ruben) lives with his aunt in San Jose---where I live.  After further investigation by Tania and Ruben, we live about 1 ½ away from Ruben’s aunt’s house.  This is pretty amazing when you think about it.  San Jose is a BIG city!  For those who are unfamiliar with San Jose, it’s bigger than San Francisco.  Naturally, Tania is thrilled that she will be able to stay with us for awhile, and we are happy to have her here.  We’ll have to share her with other family members, but it will be so nice to have her around.  I haven’t seen her since the summer of 1999…

The world IS big, but it is a small world after all, I guess…

Apparently, Ruben has already driven by our house a few times.  He is so excited that Tania is coming, it really is cute, but I wish the next time he comes around, that he would stop and say hello.  He told Tania that on one day he thought he saw us in front of the house.  We live in a cul de sac---so, when you go down my street, you actually have to turn around and pass us again to get out of the court. I’m wondering to myself now---and I’m a bit worried if he saw my butt in the air while I was trying to garden earlier this week in the front yard.  Not a good impression.  I do confess however, that me and my daughter also drove by his aunt’s street, however, we didn't’t see anyone outside, although we were hoping to.  I didn’t have the number of the house with me anyway, but it was pretty exciting to know that Tania would be around this summer.

We really did want to go to Portugal this summer, but things weren't working out time wise.  At least we’ll have a little bit of the Azores with us…  I just wish those islands weren’t so far away…
