Friday...Is it Really?

This morning I almost had a fight with my husband.  There I was lying peacefully in my warm bed, thinking it's the weekend already, and husband comes by and kisses me goodbye.  I look at him and wonder, "Why is he all dressed up to go to work?!  It's Saturday!"  I laugh at him, thinking that he just got dressed up for work for nothing, and inform him that it's in fact Saturday.

"No, honey, it's Friday."

"No it isn't silly!  It's Saturday!"

"No... it's Friday..  Big Brother was on last night--it comes only on Thursdays.."

I then wonder for a moment.  Hmm...  Could it really be Friday?

"Remember how you said you were going to go to work early today?"

"Oh shit.."  I finally remember.  Whenever I take days off in mid-week it makes me so confused.  How embarrassing. Husband laughed and went to work.  I told him I was sorry, and I felt horrible, but I did make it into work quite early this morning.  It helps when the sun is out so early and it's already a 75 degrees outside.

I had a funny dream; of course I don't remember all of it, but I was running some type of marathon passing a baton with two other people.  I don't know who these two other people were (isn't it odd when you have strangers in your dream?) but their faces looked familiar-may be I recognized them from a T.V. show or something.  Perhaps in the dream it was Saturday morning?  Who knows..

Well, I'm back at work and the cardboard pathway to the ladies room is gone.  How nice.  The building was so quiet, and there weren't any transient looking people sitting in the hallway--always good.  I am guessing that the receptionist is not here.  Last I heard she broke up in welts (again).  Meanwhile she is still getting her mail here at the office.  The welts and shingles, and hives have not interuppted her shopping, and that is for sure.  She constantly gets boxes from Nordstroms and Sephora sent to the office.  I think she leads a double life and is a table dancer by night.

So, tomorrow is the weekend again.  Gee..this week went fast (chuckle..)  Beyond the usual grocery shopping, I think I'm going to check on steam cleaning my carpets, and taking some drapes to the laundrymat, along with some dresses I intend to take on vacation.  Trip is almost a month away, and I have my cousin Manny's daughter coming to stay with us on the first of August as well.  Remember Tania?  She was with us last summer visiting her boyfriend, and she is coming down this summer as well for a time.  I will be leaving in mid August, and I will be seeing her again at the end of August when she flys down home to the Azores for a wedding.  I have a wedding on that Saturday, then I leave back to the states on Sunday, and then I have my brother-inlaw's wedding on Monday, on Labor Day..  Yep.  So, I have a lot of stuff to do as you can imagine before I leave.  Being at work is almost a break from my real life.

Okay, well, it's FRIDAY and I guess I have to go back to work!  Have a great day people!!

You receptionist has her personal mail sent to the office? THAT is more bizarre than the welts and hives! --Cin
