Christmas Photo

All of the children were home at the same time last Sunday, so I dared to do the impossible!  Take a photo of all of them together for those Christmas cards I had saved in the attic!  You know, those cards where you slide in a picture, and voila--instant Christmas card?!  They are great actually--makes giving cards really personal, and I have many relatives that live faraway that are always asking for pictures of the kids.  Well, I bought 5 packs of them during an after Christmas sale at the drug store two years ago, and didn't find them until I came across them last year, as I was taking the tree down..  I was bummed!  I vowed I wouldn't forget to use them this year.

Well, I got them all in the backyard, and I attempted to do what seemed to be the impossible.  As you can see, it took awhile.  Andrew protested most of the time, and found Nicholas quite entertaining.  Nicholas was so excited about being outside that he was more interested in running around the yard, and blow bubbles with his bubble gun.  Matthew was a good sport, and smiled perfectly for the pictures, as did Elizabeth.  At the end, after taking picture 8, I almost surrendered to the fact that it was going to be impossible to get the results I wanted.

Finally, after much coaxing, and tickling the little guy, we finally got a picture.  You can't see me of course; I'm jumping up and down with my husband in the backyard trying to get Nicholas' attention.  It's no wonder the kids are smiling---we probably look pretty darn silly.  I can only imagine what the neighbors are thinking..

Anyhoo..  I got my pictures developed, inside each of their respective cards, and I'm off writing them off..  I am happy.  Mission accomplished!

Hey, the photo came out great. I do like the one where they are sort of wrestling on the ground, though. hee hee. Glad you will be able to use your bargain cards. I always lose those for a couple years, too!
