Happy Holidays

I love the graphics at Derasta Creation...  Thanks again...

Well, it's official..  The Christmas shopping rampage has begun..  Oh joy!

I ventured off to a mall on Friday morning.  I was brave.  I did not however get up at 4 am like I have done in the past 7 years.  I think I've grown wiser.  I got up at my leisure at 8 am, and dropped off my oldest at the mall.  Poor thing worked a full day on Black Friday.  I stopped and had breakfast with the three boys, dropped the oldest to his basketball practice, and went back to the mall with the younger ones.  It was insane at Target.  INSANE..  Other than dropping off Liz at work, and picking her up, I've kept my distance from the mall.  I was there a total of 2 hours, and it was enough for me.

Online shopping is bliss..

Have you almost done with your Christmas shopping?  I'm not quite, but I hope to get to the 1/2 mark by the end of the month.  As children get older, they are harder to shop for.

A friend of mine shared me her newest dilemna.  Apparently, she has someone on her list that has been naughty, unappreciative, and just plain rude towards her.  She is wondering if she should even bother giving this person a gift this year.  I can only hope I raise my children well enough to appreciate what they have, and not be so materialistic as they get older.  It's the thought that counts, afterall, right?

I'm not giving any fruitcake this year..  So, if you are on my list, don't worry.

Thanksgiving was nice; we had two of them.  First one was spent with my husband's family, and the 2nd one was at my brother's house with my family.  It was nice to see everyone again.  I don't see my nephew's and nieces as much as I used to, so it was nice.  My Oreo pudding came out good, but no one hardly tasted my sherry liquer cake.  I ate some, and it came out good as well.  Half of it went to my daughter's boyfriend's mom, and the rest, well, I threw it away mostly because I was afraid that I would consume the rest of it.  (Yes, it was that good.)

What do you want for Christmas?  I can't decide on two things..  A cruise to Hawaii with my husband (yes, I'm dreaming..I know), OR lose 15 pounds.  Santa, give me a magic pill to lose it, please!  I am 15 pounds over my "ideal weight".  Why are those last 15 pounds so hard to lose?  I've been dragging it along with me for the past 10 years and it won't drop off.  I know..  I shouldn't complain... but, really.  A cruise to Hawaii would be nice.  Husband I NEVER had a honeymoon, just two nights away, followed by an Easter dinner with family.  Nope, not a honeymoon.  I'll be happy with some new and loose pajama pants--with palm trees.  I'll feel thinner and have a little piece of Hawaii when I wear them.

Okay, back to my online shopping..  I mean, back to work..  (ha ha ha)

I do most of my Xmas shopping here:
www.catalog.heifer.org

Teachers can get this:
firstbook.org  OR  donorschool.org

Those graphics are so pretty and sherry cake sounds yummy. They didn't eat it--hurray--more for you! Oh wait, that 15 lbs...hmmmm. Yes, that is what Santa can bring me, too: the magic pill. Haha.

I love shopping online too.  In fact most of what I have left will be done online.

I hope you get that honeymoon!  Maybe hubby can whip up a long weekend at a B&B instead of Hawaii for now???

be well,
Dawn
