Quiet Wednesday

It's mid-week...  Yeah!!   I'm counting the days until the weekend.  It's been a busy week for me..  Lots of driving around, and doing various errands...  By the time I hit my head on the pillow, lately I fall right to sleep.  It's just dawned on me the other day, that in a few weeks it will be Thanksgiving..  Have you done any of your Christmas shopping?

I've already done a little.  I bought so many toys for Nicholas for his birthday earlier, that I saved some for "Santa" to give...  But, other than that, I haven't started at all.  I have a feeling I'll be doing most of my shopping on the internet.  I do like going to the mall around this time of year, but I like doing "relaxing" shopping.  Relaxed shopping involves shopping with my daughter (no boys, or babies allowed), purhasing only a few things, having a great coffee at Starbucks, and a nice lunch.  Just me and daughter..  No distractions.  Although, I do want to take the boys out to some of the nice outdoor malls--the one on Santa Cruz downtown to may be see a movie and have hot chocolate, and Santana Row in Santa Clara.  Santana Row is beautiful---very European, with a Santa Cruz feel, yet no bums, or young transient people asking for money.  There is something about a lighted palm tree that gives me that warm Christmasy feeling.  We don't have snow over here unless we want to head into mountains on a 3 hour drive, so while a lot of you have the true snowy Christmas, we have to make do with Christmas lights and palm trees--oh, and the fake snow we can buy in cans to decorate our windows.

I went to Kinkos last night with my daughter.  She was still working on her class Woman Project, and she had made a "book of her life" including pictures of her immediate family, for her family tree.  She picked some strange pictures of me on purpose.  Great..  She also picked a picture of me and her father together dancing, stating, "This is my favorite picture of the both of you, because it's the only one I could find where the both of you look truly happy."  Only one picture.. Hmm..  Oh well, at least there is ONE!  Anyway, I was truly impressed by the way the copies of pictures turned out, and I'm now inspired to may be try and make my Christmas cards via Kinkos.  What do you think my chances are to be able to gather all the kids, hubby and I into a group photo?  I will have to check to see if my digital can take a picture automatically--if not, I will have to ask the neighbor, or the cat to take the picture.  Wish me luck!

My dream is to get a PROFESSIONAL picture taken of all of us..  I don't know if that will fly or not with everyone.  No one really likes getting their picture taken, other than my diva daughter.  The idea of getting all together in matching colored outfits, as one big happy family does sound wonderful.  But..  I may have to settle with a picture taken at home by the cat.

Today I'm leaving early from work so I can take a test for another job.  No one knows, but, it really isn't a big deal.  I'm not ready to move jobs right now, but I do want to get myself on a hiring list soon, so when I am ready (in about 2 years) I will be somewhere on a list for consideration.  Wish me luck.

Have a Glorious Day People... :)

Just book the appt for the picture, get everyone dressed and tell them you are going out to dinner, (do that after the picture) drive to the studio, and say "Merry Christmas to Me" and what can they do?  Drag them in and remind them, they owe you, you birthed them!  LOL

I have done some shopping too... need to do more!

be well,
Dawn

Ewwww, shopping. Hate it. But I like wandering around at night after the holiday lights get put up. Palm trees sound wonderful!
